Brother Daniel lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He made First Profession of Vows on May 19, 2012.  He professed Life Vows on May 15, 2014.  He was formerly a member of the Carmelite Order and also ordained a Roman Catholic priest. He subsequently left public ministry and received his Ph.D. in psychology, becoming a Licensed Psychologist and Certified Addictions Counselor.  After a career in private practice, he now serves in an administrative capacity in Community Mental Health.  He also teaches graduate courses in psychology.

Brother Daniel was raised Roman Catholic, but is now a member of the Episcopalian church and believes in and embraces a multiplicity of paths to the All Holy.  Brother Daniel serves the community as the Vocation Director.

Brother Daniel had been searching a long time for “something more” in spiritual life, and was extremely happy to find the Ecumenical Order of Charity.  When he read the Founding Document, he couldn’t believe it:  what he had been searching for a long time was beautifully expressed in that Document.  The community immediately felt like home – not exactly a common experience for a psychologist!  He is happy to share his life and spiritual journey with the other members of the Order.  He resides at Visitation House in Grand Rapids, MI.
