Brother Aidan Daniel made First Profession of Vows on May 19, 2012. He professed Life Vows on May 15, 2014. He was formerly a member of the Carmelite Order and also ordained a Roman Catholic priest. He subsequently left public ministry in the Roman church and received his Ph.D. in psychology, becoming a Licensed Psychologist and Certified Addictions Counselor. After a career in private practice, he served in an administrative capacity in Community Mental Health for almost 10 years. He also taught graduate courses in psychology.
Brother Aidan Daniel was raised Roman Catholic, but is now a member of the Episcopalian church and is an Episcopalian priest. He believes in and embraces a multiplicity of paths to the All Holy. He serves the community as the Director of the Foundation Program.
He had been searching a long time for “something more” in spiritual life, something he refers to as "the long longing," and was extremely happy to find the Ecumenical Order of Charity. When he read the Founding Document, he couldn’t believe it: what he had been searching for a long time was beautifully expressed in that Document. The community immediately felt like home – not exactly a common experience for a psychologist. Brother Aidan Daniel lives at Visitation House in Allendale, MI.
