Background:
As the responsibility for developing sanctions for repeated non-attendance at the General Assembly will be referred to a Policy Discernment Group, who will be tasked with formulating these sanctions and presenting them to the community for feedback and approval, the proposed language for inclusion in the Founding Document has been revised accordingly.

Proposed Revised Language to be added to Precepts XIII, Regarding General Assembly:
Attendance at General Assembly is required every year for Companions and those in the Foundation Program.

Under the authority of The Founding Document and the office of the Servant Guardian, the document titled General Assembly Non-Attendance Sanctions shall be considered an enforceable extension of the principles and provisions outlined in The Founding Document. As such, all stipulations and consequences specified within General Assembly Non-Attendance Sanctions are binding upon all Companions and those in the Foundation Program and shall be administered in accordance with the governance framework established by The Founding Document and under the oversight of the Servant Guardian. Exceptions will be granted to Companions who meet the criteria outlined in Precept IV, subsection ‘”Limited Ability to Participate in the Life of the Community.

Any amendments to General Assembly Non-Attendance Sanctions shall remain subject to the guiding principles of The Founding Document, ensuring alignment with its foundational purpose and intent.
